Yeah, it’s the most overused and cliche term you hear in the winter months, but Jesus, is it cold enough for you? I surfed some knee-high garbage yesterday morning and because I hadn’t been in the water since arriving home from the North Shore, I was literally shocked at the temperature. Yep, I’ve become a big fat pussy. And it wasn’t even bad, the sun was out, the water clear as a bell, and after a bit of paddling, I was nice and toasty courtesy of my Matuse supersuit. But still, a burning sensation (non-sexually transmitted) ain’t cool?especially when there’s no surf…

Speaking of being cold and flat, check out these guys from Lake Superior, who scored better surf than I have lately…no joke. The waves on Lake Superior were bigger December 15 than in Encinitas, CA. While I don’t have a lot of background on these dudes, rest assured I’ve already emailed them and their story will be told (and not in my blog, these guys are too big time for that)…
